Derrick’s Legacy

In November 2020, my wife Louise and I lost our only son, Derrick.

He suffered with scoliosis throughout his life, but tragically, he died because of an addiction to Oxycodone. He was an extraordinary musician who brought joy to many through his music and teaching.

This heartbreaking loss inspired us to honor his memory by establishing the Dynamic D. Music Fund.

Derrick loved music and loved sharing his music through both performing and teaching.

To honor his legacy, we want to share the joy of music with as many people as possible.

During this tumultuous time, I had dug into the sport of pickleball and its blossoming community and was hard at work building the company Winners Edge. To get the Dynamic D. Music Fund off the ground, Louise and I decided to take no compensation from the business and to put any profits from our share of Winners Edge into supporting and making this fund a reality. Our Plans

  • Create mobile teaching units to provide free music lessons and equipment.

  • Provide free guitar lessons — and the guitars — to underprivileged kids who wouldn’t otherwise have access.

  • Educating kids about the dangers of drug use and addiction.

  • Ensure that as many children as possible have the opportunity to learn, play, and express themselves with the joy of music.

Thank you for your support!

Best, Hank and Louise Kliebisch
